my december adventure part I - dee em @ theolo
God's grace is sufficient for me.
It has always been.
He has given enough for us to continue walking on.
But I can't wait till I see you again. All of you, including my little year ones :)
Fond memories of
- cold showers at the 2nd floor
- hair drying and chit chat sessions
- preparing counselling notes together
- singing and strumming (youtube stars!)
- a sprained pinky and trips to the clinic
- Ansons chee cheong fun and going home together
- escape to "run errands"!
- lunchtime at McDonalds
- staying up till 3am (don't worry, only once!)
- sitting next to you during service and praying next to you
- any little time spent with my little sheep
Must remember all the lessons learnt!
- co-workers walking together
- love is to serve
- less of myself
- not doing unto men, but for the glory of God
- self-control (not everything needs to be shared, and to keep one's heart)
- 做错事要悔改,不是勤做圣工来弥补
---
If not for her hand-made lemon-creme-centered cookie, she almost have forgotten how different things are now. The three years together as students, and playing around, sometimes it was "BOO", sometimes it was "What is the time, Mr Wolf?", and she also remembered how they would crowd round the piano during breaks to sing hymns (this was before they have the new rule to ban piano-playing :S) in the first year.....
Theolo time as student has always been her favorite time of the year for the past few years. It was a time when she could really put aside everything to come before God, and to live together with like-minded brethren. It's when she can really know God, and touch God.
The past two years had been different though. Theolo time became not as "relaxed", in the sense that she can no longer throw aside every other thing to simply come before God. She had more responsibilities, she had to think about her other commitments - her family, her work, she had to co-work with God to guide the little ones, she cannot come to God as simply as before.
But she knows these are all part of growing up, growing in the Lord, maturing in the faith. She can't be an infant forever, only drinking milk. Because the earth doesn't stop spinning, and time doesn't wait for you, and everyone's growing up. With every batch of new students joining theolo, the need to care and counsel the youth is evident, and she feels compelled to be a part of it. She desires to be a co-worker of God, but...
She is not perfect. In fact, she is very lacking. And she needs the grace of God to continue.... if He is willing.
Receiving the hand-made cookies meant a lot to her, perhaps they are emotional food. They kept her going, knowing that she has someone also equally working hard for the glory of God and nothing else. Who is also striving to understand, seeking to know, trying to love.... The words on the cookies reminded her how much she really misses the "carefree" days as students together. :)
She thinks that theolo time is really AWESOME. and that God is really AWESOME too.
One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
(Psalm 27:4)
This is also my heart-cry.

The adventures of dee em may end for now.... and another adventure is starting for one of them.. but she is looking forward to more adventures together in the near future, if God wills. And He will bless, because He will hear her heartfelt prayers.
